World Food Day

World Food DayWorld Food Day

Take part in this global day of collective action on October 16th for World Food Day.

The day was founded in 1945 by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization as a way to increase awareness around global issues of hunger and poverty and source solutions from across 150 participating nations.

While the initial founding was in 1945, the annual celebration of this day on October 16th only began in 1981. In this celebration, many countries involved host events where exhibitors and educators present new information, techniques, and trends within the world of food security solutions.

Celebrate World Food Day on October 16th by giving food to the less fortunate in your area, donating to community fridges, food pantries, and programs that provide free meals for students.
