National Linguini Day
National Linguini Day
Grab a plate and gather round to celebrate National Linguini Day on September 15th.
With a history that stretches back nearly 400 years, linguini is one of the world’s oldest types of pasta whose name means little tongues. Linguini is traditionally made from durum semolina flour and is narrower and more elliptical in shape than its cousin fettuccine.
Because of the difference in shape, linguini is much more delicate, and therefore, it is better to pair linguini with a lighter sauce.
So no matter if you pair your pasta with chicken, beef, or shrimp, be sure to bust out the pasta pot on September 15th for National Linguini Day.
