National Creamsicle Day

National Creamsicle DayNational Creamsicle Day

Cool off with this classic summer treat on August 14th for National Creamsicle Day. Invented in 1905 by 11-year-old Frank Epperson and originally called the Epsicle, the creamsicle quickly became a household favorite.

Frank created the Epsicle by chance after leaving the stir stick in a batch of powdered soda he had been mixing up and it froze overnight. Frank realized the potential of his creation and began selling it to friends and classmates and was eventually granted a patent for his invention in 1924.

Once the Epsicle became the Popsicle and major producers took over, the expansion of flavors and names soon saw the creation of the modern Good Humor Creamsicle.

Whether you prefer the original orange or one of the other flavors like cherry, blueberry, grape, or lime, take a moment on August 14th to enjoy this frozen delight for National Creamsicle Day.
