National Candy Month

We’re kicking off June with not just a national food day, but a whole month dedicated to one of the greatest human inventions of all time: Candy! That’s right, June is National Candy Month.

The month long celebration was created by the National Confectioner’s Association to celebrate all the joy that candy brings to us. The first National Candy Month was celebrated in January 1974, though candy itself has been a part of our lives for over 100 years. 

The month was initially set in January as a way to bolster dwindling sales after the winter holidays, but was eventually moved to May and then again to its current home in June. 

So grab your favorite candy bar, gummy, or hard candy this June for National Candy Month.
